Illegal Conveyance of Deadly Weapon or Dangerous Ordnance into Courthouse; Illegal Possession or Control in Courthouse

ORC § 2923.123

Defined

  • Knowingly;
  • Conveying, attempting to convey, possessing, or indicating possession of;
  • A deadly weapon, dangerous ordnance;

Potential Penalties

A violation of this Ohio law is generally a felony of the fifth degree and is punishable by up to 12 months in prison and a fine of up to $2500. Notably, even a concealed carry permit does not allow a person to carry a handgun in a courthouse unless that person is a law enforcement officer operating in the scope of their duties.

At Funkhouser Law, from the moment a client walks through the door, we presume that they are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. As such, we work hard to accomplish the most favorable outcome for each of our clients.

If you have been accused of illegal conveyance or possession, please call Funkhouser Law  at (614) 756-2154 for a free consultation with an experienced, peer-rated lawyer.
