Groveport Mayor’s Court
Located at 655 Blacklick Street, this Court serves as a local judicial forum to rule on misdemeanor cases alleged to have occurred within the city’s limits. Here, the mayor or an appointed magistrate presides over each case. These cases may include misdemeanor offenses such as theft, assault, and serious traffic offenses such as OVI/DUI, DUS, Hit Skip, or No Operator’s License.
The charges brought in mayor’s court can be serious, with fines ranging from $250 to $10,000 and/or jail time from 30 to 180 days, so it is important to have experienced legal representation. The goal of Funkhouser Law is to obtain the best possible result by dismissal or reduction of the charges.
Transferring the Case
In some cases, it may be desirable to transfer a case to the Franklin County Municipal Court where a jury trial may be requested. In this case, a written jury demand and request for transfer must be made. To transfer your case, please confer with Funkhouser Law about the likely effects this would have on your case and how it may be accomplished.
