The United States District Court of the Southern District of Ohio
The Southern District of Ohio is one of two federal district courts in Ohio handling both criminal and civil cases where the defendants are charged with a federal criminal offense and the amount in controversy exceeds $75,000, or if there is a federal question involved. Unlike a state court, all of the judges in this federal court are selected by the president and confirmed by the United States Senate and serve for life.
