Pickerington Mayor’s Court
The Pickerington Mayor’s Court meets every Monday at 3:30 PM at Pickerington City Hall (unless there is a holiday). If a holiday falls on a Monday, this Mayor’s Court meets on Tuesday. The City of Pickerington Mayor’s Court hears most of the criminal and traffic misdemeanor offenses within the City of Pickerington including theft, assault, zoning cases, passing bad checks, animal-related cases, tax-related cases, and serious traffic offenses such as OVI/DUI. The Pickerington Mayor’s Court is administered by a Mayor-appointed magistrate who is a licensed attorney.
The charges brought in Mayor’s Court can be serious with fines ranging from $250 to $10,000, driver’s license suspensions, and/or jail time from 30 to 180 days, so it is important to have experienced legal representation. The Judgment
The Mayor does not preside over the hearing; rather, a Mayor-appointed magistrate hears all of the cases brought to court in the Pickerington Mayor’s Court. There is no jury in Mayor’s Court; however, if one is requested, the case may be transferred to a municipal or county court. Similarly, if a trial is conducted in Mayor’s Court and the judgment is not favorable, a case may be appealed to a county court within 10 days.

The City of Pickerington is a suburb of Columbus, located just east of the Columbus Metropolitan area off Interstate 70. Also known as the “Violet Capital of Ohio,” Pickerington has a historic downtown shopping center and hosts the Motorcycle Hall of Fame.
