Defined
- Knowingly;
- Conveying, attempting to convey, possessing, or indicating possession of;
- A deadly weapon, dangerous ordnance;
- In a courthouse or other building in which a courtroom is located.
Potential Penalties
A violation of this Ohio law is generally a felony of the fifth degree and is punishable by up to 12 months in prison and a fine of up to $2500. Notably, even a concealed carry permit does not allow a person to carry a handgun in a courthouse unless that person is a law enforcement officer operating in the scope of their duties.
