Woman Sentenced for Killing Son While Driving Drunk
On Thursday, October 18, 2007, a mother in Madison Township was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison for the death of her 2 year old son. He died in the car accident that resulted from drunk driving. When police tested her blood alcohol level, it was almost 3 times the legal limit.
Brandy D. Goodnight has been sentenced to 8.5 years for one count of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of OVI.
Goodnight was grief-stricken in the court room and stated that losing her son due to her own negligence is worse than any sentence the courts could impose upon her.
